About me
I am a British Artist and Illustrator. Living in rural France with my dog, Ellie and cat, Monty. The studio is in the loft, I have three skylight windows which are permanently open so I can listen to the scuttle of birds along the rooftop and the blue skies filled with tree branches. The French countryside has a wealth of animal and bird life that is a constant inspiration for my work. When I am not painting, you will find me walking in the hills with Ellie.

For the past 33 years, since training in Liverpool Art College, I have continued my art practice, as well as working professionally within the arts, in both publication and re-painting. Working in commercial areas such as gifts, jewellery, pottery & editorial and Licensed on products, Worldwide. In 2014 the Tour de France came through the village and I created several illustrations, this gave my work exposure which led me to work on illustrative pieces on my favourite subject, nature and birds. The past couple of years, I have run workshops for watercolour enthusiasts and beginners, from my home.

In Spring 2014, I was featured artist on BBC Countryfile, the painting shown on the series is available as a Ltd Ed Print which you can purchase here. I regularly write articles for Leisure Painter Magazine. I work with the Co-operative, recently producing two maps of Mytholmroyd and Cragg Vale, which were created for the community.
I work on larger scale projects for Patagonia, creating window illustrations.  You can see me painting the George Fisher window in Keswick, here.

I primarily work in watercolour, ink pen and gouache with a dabble of pastel pencils on Saunders Waterford watercolour paper from St Cuthberts Mill.

Each day, I post a 'Tweet of the day' on twitter - a different bird everyday.
